On this date in 1979, Swell Maps released their third single, "Real Shocks". It was supported by "English Verse" and "Monologues". None of the tracks appeared on a regularly released album. In fact, the two supporting tracks were actually recorded in 1977. The Birmingham, England post punk band called it quits in 1980 after four singles and two albums.

Very underrated band!!! Musically, spanned a huge ground between the Buzzcocks and Wire..... how can you go wrong????
A'ight. Based on that comment alone I'll give it a shot....
Although this comp ni particular is quite broad ranging and encompases a lot of experimental stuff... always loved MIDGET SUBMARINES!!!
Their DIY ethic alone qualified them as true punks.
