On this date in 1980, The Sound released their second 7-inch record. The A side was "Heyday". It was backed by "Brute Force". The A side appeared on their debut album, Jeopardy. The B side did not. The London post-punk band had originally been called The Outsiders. They disbanded in 1988 after having released six albums and several singles and EP's. Lead singer and songwriter Adrian Borland committed suicide in 1999.
