The Ruts - The Crack

On this date in 1979, The Ruts released their debut album, The Crack. It contained the singles, "Babylon's Burning", "Something That I Said" and "Jah War". The London punk/post punk band lasted two albums (the second, a semi-compilation) before the overdose death of singer Malcolm Owen. They tried to carry on under a new name, Ruts DC, with very limited success. They disbanded in 1983.

My browser tells me that TheP5 is my most visited website. Not shocked, this is an excellent blog. The range, vitality and value you offer is without equal. The Crack was probably my favourite album of the punk years, and it's great to see it being brought to a new generation/revived for those who are old enough to remember...
Keep up the great work!
