On this date in 1977, Patti Smith re-released her fourth single, "Gloria". It was backed by a live version of "My Generation". The A side was different this time as the editing that took place to clean it up the first time was not done this time. The A side appeared on her 1975 debut album, Horses. The live B side was added as a bonus track to the album when it was re-released on CD. This re-release was only available as a 12 inch record. The New Jersey singer/poet was one of the founders of the New York punk scene and was a regular at CBGB's. She was the last performer on stage on October 15, 2006, the last night that CBGB's was open.

We're slackers...
We don't update The P5 every day like we used to. So when we slack off, just use the search box up there on the right. Yeah, the red box, that's it. Search The P5 Archives. You'll be glad you did.
