On this date in 1982, Discharge released their sixth single, "State Violence, State Control". It was backed by "Doomsday". Neither track appeared on their debut album, Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing. They were one of the earlier English punk bands, having started recording demos in 1977, but they didn't distribute anything officially until 1980. The Staffordshire, England punk/hardcore band disbanded in 1987 but have performed since.

I always found Discharge to be completely yellow pack and generic and their importance to be very much a "time and place" type of thing... I've been given 3 copies of WHY? over the years and given them away as quickly... although people older than me swear by them!!!.... I've witnessed the reformed version with yer man from the Varukers twice and it's pointless!!!
