Culture Club - Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?

On this date in 1982, Culture Club released their third single, "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?". It was backed by a dub version of the A side. The A side appeared on their debut album, Kissing To Be Clever. The song reached the #1 spot on the U.K. singles chart and the #2 spot on the U.S. singles chart. The London, England new wave band lasted until 1986. They re-formed in 1998 and the second union lasted four years.

That record sleeve is about as " of the time " as you can get!!! - Can anyone verify at what point John Moss was involved with the Clash???

Great record sleeve. Boy George's early look at the time was a cross between a Hasidic Jew and a Rastafarian, which he initially said is what inspired the name Culture Club. Actually, early on in their career, Culture Club's look was very much a uniform. It was only a little bit later that George eventually went for a more obvious drag queen motif.
