Comsat Angels - Waiting For A Miracle

|

On this date in 1980, Comsat Angels released their debut album, Waiting For A Miracle. It contained the singles, "Independence Day" and "Total War". The Sheffield, England post-punk/new wave band changed their name to C.S. Angels later on due to some pressure from Comsat, the satellite company. They disbanded in 1995.

The best UK album of 1980. Period! :-)

Up there with Echo and the Bunnymen with a sound of their own. Musicians with very distinct individual styles. Strong on melody and lyrics thanks to Stephen Fellows, guitarist and vocalist. Classic melancholic post punk. Recommended: the first three albums plus Chasing Shadows, 1986. Should have been big, this band!!
