We're slackers...

We don't update The P5 every day like we used to. So when we slack off, just use the search box up there on the right. Yeah, the red box, that's it. Search The P5 Archives. You'll be glad you did.

Modern English - I Melt With You

|

On this date in 1982, Modern English released their fifth single, "I Melt With You". It was backed by "The Prize". The 12 inch version had two different B sides, "Life In The Gladhouse" and "Someone's Calling". All songs except "The Prize" appeared on their second album, After The Snow. "The Prize" was added to the album as a bonus track when it was re-released on CD. The single reached the #78 spot on the U.S. singles chart but did not chart in the U.K. The Colchester, England post punk/new wave band first disbanded in 1986. They have reunited to record and perform a few times since.

Wasn't this song re-recorded, or maybe remixed some years later? does anyone know for sure?

Yes, it sure was, Douglas. I think it was in 1990. It reached the #76 spot on the U.S. singles chart, just two places better than the original.
