On this date in 1982, Wall Of Voodoo released "Mexican Radio" as a 12 inch. It was their second single. The B side was an instrumental (with some talking in the background) called "There's Nothing On This Side". The 12 inch also included a dub version of "Mexican Radio". They would also release a 7 inch version of the song around this time (with "Call Of The West" as the B side). Both "Mexican Radio" and "Call Of The West" appeared on their second album, Call Of The West, while both extras on the 12 inch were left off. The single was re-released in 1983 and reached the #58 spot on the U.S. singles chart. The Los Angeles post-punk/new wave band disbanded in 1988.
