We're slackers...

We don't update The P5 every day like we used to. So when we slack off, just use the search box up there on the right. Yeah, the red box, that's it. Search The P5 Archives. You'll be glad you did.

Snakefinger - The Spot

|

On this date in 1978, Snakefinger released his debut single, "The Spot". It was backed by "Smelly Tongues". Neither track appeared on his debut album, Chewing Hides The Sound. Snakefinger was actually London post punk musician Philip Charles Lithman. Under the name Snakefinger, he released five studio albums before dying of a heart attack on July 1, 1987. His close association with The Residents were a major influence on them and vice versa. He played for years with them live and contributed in the studio.

And no mention whatsoever on his participation with the Residents? Come on, particually in this period one did not exist without the other. Who knows what would have happened to those Eyeball-guys without (THE GREAT) Snakefinger? They even play the backing-tracks on this one, how's that?

You know...as soon as I saved the post, I asked myself whether I should have mentioned it. I will take your suggestion though and add a brief blurb.
