The Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop

On this date in 1976, The Ramones released their debut single, "Blitzkrieg Bop", in the U.K. It was backed by "Havana Affair". It had been released in the U.S. in April. Both songs appeared on their self-titled debut album. The single did not chart but, no doubt, had a significance impact on many soon-to-be young musicians. The legendary punk band from Queens, NY turned in their leather jackets for good in 1996.
