On this date in 1980, John Cooper Clarke released his debut album, Ou Est La Maison De Fromage?. It was a mixture of studio and live poems set to music. The single, "Gimmix" was on this album. The CD re-release expanded this to 32 tracks, including the inclusion of some Peel Sessions tracks and the Innocents EP. John Cooper Clarke was a punk poet from Manchester, U.K., whose poems would often, but not always, be set to background music.
