Squeeze - Up The Junction

On this date in 1979, Squeeze released their fifth single, "Up The Junction". It was backed by "It's So Dirty". Both tracks appeared on their second album, Cool For Cats. The single reached the #2 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The London new wave band disbanded in 1982 only to re-form in 1985 and stayed intact until 1999. They have recently done some touring together again.

One of the saddest songs about unplanned pregnancy ever laid to wax, this. Squeeze at their popiest best as well. They were on their game!
