We're slackers...

We don't update The P5 every day like we used to. So when we slack off, just use the search box up there on the right. Yeah, the red box, that's it. Search The P5 Archives. You'll be glad you did.

The Specials - Ghost Town

|

On this date in 1981, The Specials released their seventh single, "Ghost Town". It was backed by "Why" and "Friday Night, Saturday Morning". None of these tracks were on a regular studio album but all three were captured on the 1991 compilation, The Singles Collection. The single made it to the #1 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Coventry, England ska band listed their name as Special A.K.A. for some records, a practice that they sometimes employed even before the departure of Terry Hall, Lynval Golding and Neville Staples (to form Fun Boy Three in 1981). The band, itself, worked as The Special A.K.A. for awhile and released their last album in 1984. They have been touring this year.
