On this date in 1977, The Modern Lovers released their third album, Rock 'N' Roll With The Modern Lovers. It contained the singles, "South American Folk Song" and "Egyptian Reggae". This album, like the second album, was actually credited to Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers. This was the Boston proto-punk band's first album without the services of drummer David Robinson who had left to join The Cars. While The Modern Lovers no longer exist, Jonathan Richman is still performing.
