On this date in 1982, Eurythmics released their fourth single, "The Walk". It was backed by "The Beast" and "The Walk Pt. 2". The A side appeared on their second album, Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This). The B sides did not. The London new wave band was formed by Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart when their previous band, The Tourists, disbanded. Eurythmics disbanded in 1990 but re-formed in 1999 and have some limited recordings and performances.

Awesome track - there is also an excellent faster variation called Let's Just Close Our Eyes from the B-side of Love Is A Stranger.
Yes...I'm familiar with that. Sadly, I saw them open for the B-52's around 1982 and they were rather boring in person.
Yes, I wonder whether that was when they were still performing the In The Garden stuff. In The Garden is tops for me. They went a little too rock-and-soul for me after 1984. Shame about the live show you saw, I do have a 12" of This Is The House with a blistering live version of Your Time Will Come on the reverse. Chris N
Come to think of it, it was actually 1983. They were promoting the Sweet Dreams stuff.
