On this date in 1980, The Damned released their ninth single, "White Rabbit". It was backed by "Rabid (Over You)" and "Seagulls". The A side was a cover of the Jefferson Airplane song. The single was originally only released in France and Germany but, later, released in the U.K. None of the three songs made a studio album but "White Rabbit" and "Rabid (Over You)" were added as bonus tracks to their third album, Machine Gun Etiquette, when re-released on CD. The single reached the #82 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The London punk band has disbanded and re-formed numerous times. Right now (I think), they are not officially disbanded!
