On this date in 1980, Pylon released their debut single, "Cool". The B side was "Dub". Both songs appeared on their self-titled four song EP released in 1980. They were also added as bonus tracks to their debut album, Gyrate, when re-released on CD (as Gyrate Plus). The new wave band hailed from Athens, Georgia, also home to the B52's and REM. They disbanded in 1983 but have re-formed on and off ever since.
