On this date in 1981, Negativland released their self-titled debut album. There were no singles released from the album. There weren't even names for the songs. Twenty numbered tracks...that's all. The experimental avant-garde band from San Francisco used media stunts and clever advertising to spread the word about their band. They continue to produce and release music.
