On this date in 1982, Midnight Oil released their fifth single, "Armistice Day". It was backed by a live version of "Stand In Line". The A side appeared on their third album, Place Without A Postcard. The single reached the #31 spot on the Australian singles chart. The power pop band from Sydney, Australia gained chart success in their homeland long before making any noise in the U.K. and U.S. That would arrive in the mid-80's. The band broke up in 2002.
