On this date in 1980, The Chords released their debut album, So Far Away. It contained the singles, "Maybe Tomorrow" (#40 U.K.) and "Something's Missing" (#55 U.K.). The album went to the #30 spot on the U.K. album chart. The London mod revivalist band released several singles but just one album before disbanding in 1981.>

Your blog is literally rocking my world right now — been on a 70s punk and mod kick as of late, and you're leading me to all kinds of goodies I'd either forgotten about (like this Chords LP) or never knew existed in the first place. Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks Dan! We'll try.
Hey...keep me posted on that baseball book. Definitely want to read it when it's complete!
Will do, man! Should be out next Feb. through Lyons Press, barring any acts of God or paper shortages...
That's great, Dan! Avid baseball fan. I've been to Cooperstown every year since 1992...sometimes more than once.
Nice! I've honestly never been there, but it's high on the list of "next places to visit"...
The funny thing is, I pretty much swore off of baseball when I got into punk in the early 80s, believing that the two were somehow mutually exclusive; finally came back in time for the Sosa-McGwire roidfest. Good to know that there are other folks out there who appreciate punk AND baseball with equal passion!
You should definitely go, Dan!
I can speak for Mookie too when I say he has a passion for baseball as well. He's in Florida and goes to a lot of preseason games
