The B-52's - Rock Lobster

On this date in 1978, The B-52's released their debut single, "Rock Lobster". It was backed by "52 Girls". Both songs appeared on their self-titled debut album but were re-recorded for the album. The single went to the #56 spot on the U.S. singles chart and the #37 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Athens, Georgia new wave quintet was reduced to a foursome after the death of Ricky Wilson but have continued on. They just released a new album.
