Modern English - Mesh And Lace

On this date in 1981, Modern English released their debut album, Mesh And Lace. It did not include any singles. The phrase "mesh and lace" would be included in the lyrics of their most well-known song later, "I Melt With You", which had not even been written yet. The Colchester, England post punk/new wave band first disbanded in 1986. They have reunited to record and perform a few times since.
