J.J. Burnel - Freddie Laker

|

On this date in 1979, Jean-Jacques Burnel, bass player for The Stranglers, released his debut single, "Freddie Laker (Concorde & Eurobus)". It was backed by "Ozymandias". The A side appeared on his debut album, Euroman Cometh. The B side was a non-LP track. Ex-Damned and future Lords Of The New Church guitarist Brian James played on the album which was more synth-dominated than The Stranglers' music. It was a side project that Burnel would occasionally explore during his tenure with The Stranglers which still continues today.
