On this date in 1981, The Clash released their fifteenth single, "The Magnificent Seven". It was backed by "The Magnificent Dance". Although "The Magnificent Seven" appeared on their fourth album, Sandinista! , it was a different version of the song. The B side did not appear on an album until the EP Black Market Clash was expanded to Super Black Market Clash on CD. The single reached the #34 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The London punk band disbanded in 1986.
