Blondie - Island Of Lost Souls

On this date in 1982, Blondie released their eighteenth single, "Island Of Lost Souls". It was backed by "Dragonfly". Both songs were on their sixth album, The Hunter. The single reached the #11 spot on the U.K. singles chart and the #37 spot on the U.S. singles chart. The New York City punk/new wave band broke up in 1982 but they re-formed in 1998.

I know "The Hunter" is not regarded too highly by many people, but this is one of my favorite Blondie songs! Very cool.

Sadly, I have to disagree with the above commentator. I think they totally lost it with this song.

PS - I was going to make that comment even before I saw the first comment, so no personal offence is meant.

My opinion falls somewhat in between. I liked the album but thought it was weaker than their previous efforts. Nonetheless, I liked it. I don't think they lost that much.
