Pere Ubu - Final Solution

On this date in 1976, Pere Ubu released their second single, "Final Solution". It was backed by "Cloud 149". Neither side appeared on their 1978 debut album, The Modern Dance. The Cleveland avant-garde/proto punk band formed when Rocket From The Tombs disbanded. Dave Thomas and Peter Laughner formed Pere Ubu while fellow Rocket From The Tombs band members, Cheetah Chrome and Johnny Blitz, founded The Dead Boys. Pere Ubu continues to release music.
