About: The original Post Punk Progressive Pop Party (The P5) aired every Saturday night on 88.7FM WVHC (now WRHU) Radio Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Back in 1978, WVHC was among the first outlets (public or commercial) in the United States to promote what became the New Wave movement. This blog is a tribute to that show and all of the great music it exposed us to.

Disclaimer: The P5 DOES NOT post music files online.
We simply link to the many great music blogs that already do.

M - Pop Musik

On this date in 1979, M released their second single, "Pop Musik". It was backed by "M-Factor". The A side appeared on their debut album, New York-London-Paris-Munich. The B side did not but it was added as a bonus track when the album was re-released on CD. The single reached the #1 spot on the U.S. singles chart and the #2 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The band was fronted by Robin Scott. The Croydon, England singer had relocated to Paris before forming the band. They disbanded in 1981.
