On this date in 1978, Johnny Moped released their debut album, Cycledelic. It contained the singles, "Darling, Let's Have Another Baby" and "Little Queenie". The London punk lasted one album before disbanding in 1978. Captain Sensible played guitar in the band. Just before the record was recorded, a transplanted American named Sissy Bar had left the band. We know her better as Chrissie Hynde.

About: The original Post Punk Progressive Pop Party (The P5) aired every Saturday night on 88.7FM WVHC (now WRHU) Radio Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Back in 1978, WVHC was among the first outlets (public or commercial) in the United States to promote what became the New Wave movement. This blog is a tribute to that show and all of the great music it exposed us to.
