On this date in 1981, The Freshies released their seventh single, "Wrap Up The Rockets". It was backed by "Gonna Get Better". Neither track appeared on an album because the band did not produce any. Numerous singles and a few EP's but no albums from the Manchester, England punk/power pop band by the time they disbanded in 1982.

About: The original Post Punk Progressive Pop Party (The P5) aired every Saturday night on 88.7FM WVHC (now WRHU) Radio Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Back in 1978, WVHC was among the first outlets (public or commercial) in the United States to promote what became the New Wave movement. This blog is a tribute to that show and all of the great music it exposed us to.
