On this date in 1981, The Cure released their sixth single "Primary". It was backed by "Descent". The A side appeared on their third album, Faith. The B side was a non-LP track. The single reached the #43 on the U.K. singles chart. The Sussex, England post punk/goth/new wave band shows no signs of slowing down.

About: The original Post Punk Progressive Pop Party (The P5) aired every Saturday night on 88.7FM WVHC (now WRHU) Radio Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Back in 1978, WVHC was among the first outlets (public or commercial) in the United States to promote what became the New Wave movement. This blog is a tribute to that show and all of the great music it exposed us to.
