On this date in 1982, Cuddly Toys released their second album, Trials And Crosses. It included the single, "It's A Shame". The U.K. new wave band used to be called Raped and played punk. Their name change, image change (glam) and musical change (to New Wave) really didn't give them a huge fan base in the U.K. but they were popular in Japan. a>

About: The original Post Punk Progressive Pop Party (The P5) aired every Saturday night on 88.7FM WVHC (now WRHU) Radio Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Back in 1978, WVHC was among the first outlets (public or commercial) in the United States to promote what became the New Wave movement. This blog is a tribute to that show and all of the great music it exposed us to.
