On this date in 1980, The Cramps released their debut full length album, Songs The Lord Taught Us. It included the singles, "Fever" and "Garbageman". The Los Angeles psychobilly band is still playing. Original members Lux Interior and Posion Ivy are still at the helm.

About: The original Post Punk Progressive Pop Party (The P5) aired every Saturday night on 88.7FM WVHC (now WRHU) Radio Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Back in 1978, WVHC was among the first outlets (public or commercial) in the United States to promote what became the New Wave movement. This blog is a tribute to that show and all of the great music it exposed us to.
