On this date in 1981, Bauhaus released their fifth single, "Kick In The Eye". It was backed by "Satori". The A side was a remixed version of a track that would appear on their second album, Mask. The B side was a non-LP track that was added as a bonus track on the album when it was re-released on CD. The single reached the #59 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Northampton, England goth band broke up in 1983. Peter Murphy found some success as a solo artist. After some other short-lived projects, the remaining former members of Bauhaus (Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins) formed Love And Rockets.

About: The original Post Punk Progressive Pop Party (The P5) aired every Saturday night on 88.7FM WVHC (now WRHU) Radio Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Back in 1978, WVHC was among the first outlets (public or commercial) in the United States to promote what became the New Wave movement. This blog is a tribute to that show and all of the great music it exposed us to.
