On this date in 1982, After The Fire released their fourth album, Batteries Not Included. The album contained one single, "Rich Boys". The London band started out as a progressive rock band but turned to new wave by the early '80's. Ex-Flys' drummer Peter King had joined the band prior to their third album. They disbanded in 1983 after four studio albums. They reunited in 2004.

About: The original Post Punk Progressive Pop Party (The P5) aired every Saturday night on 88.7FM WVHC (now WRHU) Radio Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Back in 1978, WVHC was among the first outlets (public or commercial) in the United States to promote what became the New Wave movement. This blog is a tribute to that show and all of the great music it exposed us to.
Disclaimer: The P5 DOES NOT post music files online.
