Ian Dury & The Blockheads - Sweet Gene Vincent

On this date in 1977, Ian Dury & The Blockheads released their second single, "Sweet Gene Vincent". It was backed by "You're More Than Fair". The A side appeared on their debut album, New Boots And Panties!!. The B side was a non-LP track which was added as a bonus track on a subsequent CD re-release. It had been originally written and performed in Dury's previous band, Kilburn & The Highroads. The Blockheads broke up in 1981 but re-formed in the 90's. They continue on despite Ian Dury's death.
