The Nuns

On this date in 1980, The Nuns released their self-titled debut album. It contained the singles, "Savage", "World War III" and "Wild". was actually released for them since the band had already broken up. Guitarist Alejandro Escovedo had already left the band before the end, later to resurface with Chip and Tony Kinman (ex-Dils) in Rank & File. The San Francisco punk band was one of the opening acts, along with The Avengers, for The Sex Pistols last show (San Francisco, Winterland Ballroom, January 14, 1978). The Nuns have since re-formed and are based in New York City as a goth band.
